Magoffin County Schools Volunteer Program:
Constructing School Partnerships with Families and Community Groups
This training is required in order to volunteer on scheduled days, special events, or other times arranged by school staff. We believe helping your children realize the value of an education is extremely important. Children who see their parents supporting them and their school tend to behave better and have a greater chance of reaching proficiency. The KY Dept. of Education supports the document "The Missing Piece of the Proficiency Puzzle" which says the "missing piece" is Family & Community involvement. Even if you only volunteer once in a while, it can not only have a great impact on your child and school, but also provide a good opportunity to connect with teachers and other parents. Parent/school partnerships help ensure student success. So if you are planning to volunteer during the 2014/2015 school year, make plans to attend one of the following trainings.
South Magoffin—Aug. 26 at 9:00 a.m.
North Central Head Start—Aug. 26 at 1:30 p.m. (located behind Board of Education Building)
