On May 24, Salyersville Grade School sponsored a blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross. The blood drive was co-chaired by Miss Mary Ann Caldwell, and Mrs. Theresa Miller. Mr. Chris Jones, representative from the Red Cross, visited the school and gave a presentation about the importance of blood donation. SGS students became pint size heroes by going out into the community and recruiting adults to come into the school and donate blood. A total of 27 pints of blood were donated. Pictured above is assistant principal, Mr. Gary Helton, donating. SGS would like to thank everyone that participated in the blood drive.
