SGS Students Win Prizes in Conservation Contest
The annual Jim Claypool Conversation contest allows students in grades 1st through 12th to compete in the areas of art and writing. Thanks to Conservation Chairman, Sanford Holbrook, for extending this contest to the Kindergarten students of Magoffin County as well. Each grade winner received a $50 savings bond. Helton.) Not pictured; Erikah Jayne and Chloe Caudill. According to Mr. Holbrook, Magoffin County had the largest number of entrants out of the 121 conservation districts. Salyersville Grade School had the largest entrants from Magoffin County. Salyersville Grade School would like to thank the Soil Conservation Office and SGS FRYSC coordinator Mrs. Janelle May for bringing this program to the students of Salyersville Grade School.
