EMPLOYMENT AT MAGOFFIN COUNTY SCHOOLS

     In preparation of the new accountability system and implementation of the new common core standards, Magoffin County is working to ensure that schools are receiving training about Senate Bill 1 to prepare for the new program reviews, common core standards, certified teacher evaluations, characteristics of highly effective teaching and learning and K-2 assessments. The District and School Leadership Teams are providing school staff with professional development that will ensure successful implementation of SB1, along with the following initiatives for improvement: Personalized Learning, Formative Assessment training, Discovery Ed Schoolwide assessment program to determine and track individual student needs, and Analyzing data. Central office staff will continue to work with schools in reaching their goal of 100 and closing achievement gaps between groups of students.
