The mission of the School Health Services team is to support districts as they support students with their health needs.  We know that there is a critical link between health and learning and the role of schools to help improve the well-being of students.

Research shows that when school districts and schools have effective policies and practices that support the health of their students and staff there are positive results:

  • Student concentration improves

  • Student behavior problems are reduced

  • Student and staff attendance increases

  • Children and adolescents develop life-long health-promoting behaviors
