2024/2025 Magoffin County Virtual Academy K-6
The Magoffin County School System believes that in-person instruction is always the best option. However, we are offering a virtual option for our students. The Magoffin County Virtual Academy (Grades K-6) is an online learning option for those students who wish to continue their education full-time through an online learning environment. Daily attendance in online classes is required, as are participation and completion of daily assignments. The level of expectation and accountability resembles that of the traditional classroom, but takes place online. All state assessments will be in-person, and every student is required to participate. Every student will need a Google Classroom Account. After three missed days, the student will be considered truant.
Attendance will be monitored twice per day for all students. Student attendance will be monitored from 8:00am--10:30am and again from 11:00am--1:30pm daily. Students are expected to log in and participate between 8:00am--10:30am and again between 11:00am--1:30pm. Students who do not participate will be counted absent.
Students enrolled in the Magoffin County Virtual Academy K-6 will follow the same calendar as in-person students. For example, if school is canceled for in-person students, K-6 Virtual students will be held accountable to all attendance expectations, regulations, and laws.
